MRC USA 5-Day Summit 2019 - Rancho Cucamonga, USA

8:59 AM Mon, August 19, 2019 - 4:59 PM Fri, August 23, 2019

The Myobrace® System

Traditionally, the view among orthodontists was that mechanical symptom correction was the only means of treating genetically inevitable malocclusion. Focus has shifted from the technical and mechanical excellence of the past and dental professionals are increasingly looking towards more health driven, biological, evidence-based and effective approaches to correcting malocclusion. As the incidence of malocclusion in 21st century children approaches 100 per cent the demand for orthodontic treatment has never been greater.

Follow up courses will show you how to integrate Myofunctional Orthodontics into any
Paediatric, General or Orthodontic practice.

Achieve results in less then 12 months that you never thought possible. No extractions and no braces.

MRC USA 5-Day Summit 2019

MRC is dedicated to ensuring Myobrace® Certified Providers receive the support necessary to become an even more successful Myobrace® practitioner. The MRC Annual Global Summit is a great opportunity for MCP’s to network with other professionals, find out about the latest developments in appliances and myofunctional orthodontic techniques as well as learn about the most recent advances in patient education and compliance programs. The 5-day summit includes workshops regarding how to diagnose and treat airway dysfunction and TMJ disorder as well as advanced myofunctional orthodontic and expansion techniques course presented by MRC CEO and founder Dr. Chris Farrell and other leading practitioners.

LECTURERS:
Dr. Chris Farrell BDS Sydney - Through clinical experience, Dr. Farrell took an interest in TMJ / TMD Disorder and after further research discovered the etiology of malocclusion and TMJ Disorder was myofunctional, which contradicted the established views of his profession. Dr. Farrell founded MRC in 1989 to develop myofunctional appliances to be effective in early orthodontic treatment.  The Trainer and Myobrace® appliance systems are now used by dentists and orthodontists in more than 100 countries.

Dr. German Ramirez-Yañez - For more than 20 years Dr. Ramirez-Yañez has worked to treat malocclusion in the early stages using functional appliances.  He is well published, regarding functional appliances and the biological rationale for functional treatment, in peer reviewed journals and has written a book focused on looking in depth at craniofacial growth and development, the patho-physiology of functional disorders in the craniocervico-mandibular system and how the craniofacial structures are modified by functional appliances.

Dr. Chris Norton, DDS - Chris Norton graduated from SMU and Baylor Dental School in Dallas. He has practiced orthodontics and general dentistry in Dallas and Santa Fe, NM. He spent four years as Dental Director for Amarillo College. He has practiced orthodontic treatment, TMD, and sleep apnea in Salt Lake City and McKinney, TX.

Dr. Barry Raphael - Dr Raphael has close to three decades experience working as an orthodontic practitioner.  In recent years, he has recognised the benefits myofunctional therapy provides to both his patients and his practice and has firsthand experience moving from a tooth-centric philosophy of orthodontic mechanotherapy to a muscle-centric philosophy of orofacial development.

Dr. Ana Lorena Gomez - Dr. Ana Lorena Gómez has practiced general dentistry for 27 years. Her practice is exclusively orthodontics for 17 years. In 2009 she incorporated The Myobrace® System as a regular treatment for her patients. This resulted in an increase in the number of patients treated and better results in stability of cases and facial Harmony. Dr. Gómez shares her experience of how she changed the way of doing the initial diagnoses, incorporating the Myofunctional Evaluation of the patient, and by doing this, the problem of bad function can be addressed early and a Integral Preventive Orthodontic treatment is then implemented, changing the way the delivery of care was given.

Patrick McKeown - For the past fifteen years, Patrick McKeown has delivered training in Breathing Re-Education to healthcare professionals and the general public with sleep disordered breathing and breathing pattern disorders. As part of his work, he has collaborated in four clinical trials investigating Breathing Re-education for asthma and rhinitis. A speaker on TED talks, Patrick is the author of eight books including two best sellers for asthma. His latest book is titled “The Oxygen Advantage” and explores improving sports performance in athletes.

Kelly Baker, RDH,OMT - Ms. Kelly Baker began her career as a chair side dental assistant in high school and went on to become a Registered Dental Hygienist. She furthered her education in the dental field by learning more about clinical applications of techniques and obtaining her Local Anesthesia permit in 2008. In October 2008 she attended an IAOM course to become a Myofunctional Therapist. After spending 19 years practicing as a RDH and OMT, she took up an educator role with MRC where she has been able to express her passion in belief for myofunctional therapy.

Dr. Soroush Zaghi Dr. Zaghi is a graduate of Harvard Medical School, UCLA Otolaryngology (ENT) residency, and Stanford Sleep Surgery Fellowship. He is very active in clinical research with over 60+ peer-reviewed research journal publications and is a recognised leader on advancing standards of care for sleep-disordered breathing and tongue-tie surgery. He is now in practice in Los Angeles, CA in the United States through The Breathe Institute where the focus of his clinical practice and research efforts is now on understanding the impact of tethered oral tissues on sleep-disordered breathing and maxillofacial development in children and as a risk factor for upper airway resistance syndrome and obstructive sleep apnoea in adults.

CANCELLED - Myofunctional Orthodontic, TMJ & Sleep Disordered Breathing Symposium 2019

9:00 AM Wed, February 20, 2019 - 5:00 PM Thu, February 21, 2019

MRC 3 Day International Myofunctional TMJ Sleep Dentistry Symposium 2019

The Dental profession is increasingly being drawn into a role of diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. With the growing number of "Dental Sleep Medicine" courses on offer, there is a need to evaluate which of these gives the widest and most clinically orientated educational program. Furthermore, TMJ disorder remains a subject of great confusion among dentists, with the newly qualified practitioners having less knowledge of this subject than even their basic orthodontic skills.

The inaugural TMJ Sleep Dentistry Symposium by MRC will be the first to put the complete picture together. From treating a clicking joint, to evaluating and treating sleep disorders in Adults and children, this symposium will cover diagnostic and treatment procedures for TMJ disorder and sleep disorders as well as show you how to seamlessly integrate it all with Myofunctional Orthodontic procedures.

Why? Because Sleep disorders, TMJ disorders and malocclusion are integrated and, in most patients, require seamless diagnosis and treatment procedures to prevent inadequate and incomplete outcomes.

This symposium will define a new syndrome known as TMJBDS - Teeth Muscles Jaw Breathing Disordered Sleep Syndrome.

Learning outcomes:
• Understanding why TMJ disorder and Sleep disorders most commonly occur together.
• Why the "gold standard" for treating Obstructive Sleep Apnoea produces negative results despite being a billion-dollar business.
• Understanding TMJ disorder and how to provide immediate pain relief for many patients.
• Paediatric Sleep Dentistry - Myosa for Kids - published research shows its effectiveness.
• New diagnostic procedures for TMJBDS - Breathing, Joint, Muscle and CBCT evaluation.
• Newly developed Myosa® treatment protocols to be released in 2019.
• Patient education for TMJBDS.
• Treating the causes not just the symptoms - a novel approach not addressed by conventional Medical and Dental treatment protocols.

LECTURERS:

Dr. Chris Farrell BDS Sydney - Dr Chris Farrell graduated from Sydney University in 1971 having gained a comprehensive knowledg¬e of traditional orthodontic treatment using the BEGG technique.
As a result of his clinical experience he became interested in TMJ/TMD Disorder and after further research discovered the aetiology of malocclusion and TMJ disorder was myofunctional, which contradicted the established view of his profession.

Dr Farrell founded Myofunctional Research Co. (MRC) in 1989 with the intent to develop a myofunctional orthodontic system targeted at treating the upper airway and neuromuscular dysfunction causing malocclusion.

Dr Farrell’s Myobrace® and Trainer treatment systems have proven extremely effective at providing early, preventive pre-orthodontic treatment and are now used

Dr. David McIntosh (ENT Surgeon) - Dr David McIntosh is an adjunct Associate Professor of ENT in Queensland. He specialises in paediatric ENT, nose and sinus disease, snoring and sleep apnoea.

MRC 2 Day Training - Introduction to Myofunctional Orthodontics

LECTURERS:

Dr. Ana Lorena Gomez - Dr. Ana Lorena Gómez has practiced general dentistry for 27 years. Her practice is exclusively orthodontics for 17 years. In 2009 she incorporated The Myobrace® System as a regular treatment for her patients.

Dr. German Ramirez-Yañez - For more than 20 years Dr Ramirez-Yañez has worked to treat malocclusion in the early stages using functional appliances.

Dr.Cathy Sherry - Dr. Sherry is a graduate of the Oklahoma College of Dentistry and has been in practice for over 30 years. Her passion has always been interceptive orthodontics and she incorporated The Myobrace System in her treatment. She has had several of her case studies published as well as an article on Atypical Facial Growth which showcases myofunctional treatment. Dr. Sherry is a member of ADA, ODA, AACD, and is a Senior Instructor for the IAO. She is also on the peer review committee of the International Association for Orthodontics.

Myobrace Certified Provider Latin Summit 2019 - Panama City, Panama

9:00 AM Thu, May 16, 2019 - 5:00 PM Sat, May 18, 2019

The Myobrace® System

Traditionally, the view among orthodontists was that mechanical symptom correction was the only means of treating genetically inevitable malocclusion. Focus has shifted from the technical and mechanical excellence of the past and dental professionals are increasingly looking towards more health driven, biological, evidence-based and effective approaches to correcting malocclusion. As the incidence of malocclusion in 21st century children approaches 100 per cent the demand for orthodontic treatment has never been greater.

       MYOBRACE® K1/BWS - K2 - T3 - T4

Follow up courses will show you how to integrate Myofunctional Orthodontics into any
Paediatric, General or Orthodontic practice.

Achieve results in less then 12 months that you never thought possible. No extractions and no braces.

Myobrace Certified Provider: 3 Day Latin Summit 2019

MRC is dedicated to ensuring Myobrace® Certified Providers receive the support necessary to become an even more successful Myobrace® practitioner. The MRC Annual Global Summit is a great opportunity for MCP’s to network with other professionals, find out about the latest developments in appliances and myofunctional orthodontic techniques as well as learn about the most recent advances in patient education and compliance programs. The three day summit includes workshops regarding how to diagnose and treat airway dysfunction and TMJ disorder as well as advanced myofunctional orthodontic and expansion techniques course presented by MRC CEO and founder Dr.

Dr John Flutter BDS (London) Dental Surgeon - Dr Flutter qualified as a Dentist in 1971 and has been practising orthodontics for 40 years. In 2007 he opened his practice in Brisbane that focuses treatment on the growing child. He now works exclusively in dentofacial orthopaedics and orthodontic treatment for children and adults. Dr Flutter is the Queensland State President of the Australian Association of Orofacial Orthopaedics and is a certified Breathing Practitioner. Dr Flutter has lectured on Myofunctional Influences on Facial Growth and the dentition in 66 different countries in the last 12 years as well as publishing articles in journals throughout the world, including the IAO journal “The Negative Effects of Mouth Breathing”.

Dr Madeeha Khan B Oral Hlth (Dent Sci), Grad Dip Dent (Griffith) Dr Khan completed her studies in dentistry at Griffith University in 2016, achieving Awards for Academic Excellence over three consecutive years.
