MRC 2 Day Course - Key Focus: Practical Course & BWS Workshop (Advanced)

During MRC's training seminars and courses, attendees will learn how myofunctional appliances can be used to treat soft tissue dysfunction, as well as receive advice regarding how myofunctional orthodontics can offer their practice a profitable alternative to traditional orthodontic techniques.  Attendees will also be presented with information regarding a wide range of MRC's appliances as well as receive information about profitably managing a clinic solely devoted to myofunctional orthodontic treatment. MRC’s expert presenters offer doctors and their staff a practical and modern approach to diagnosing of poor myofunctional habits and treating the underlying causes of malocclusion. These courses also include case studies, task delegation and workshops explaining and demonstrating various MRC systems and appliances.

LECTURERS:

Dr. Chris Farrell BDS Sydney - Dr. Chris Farrell graduated from Sydney University in 1971 having gained a comprehensive knowledge of traditional orthodontics using the BEGG technique. Through clinical experience Dr Farrell took an interest in TMJ/TMD disorder and following further research he discovered the etiology of malocclusion and TMJ disorder was myofunctional which contradicted the established views of his profession. Dr Farrell founded Myofunctional Research Co. (MRC) in 1989 to develop myofunctional appliances that would prove effective in early orthodontic treatment. His Trainer and Myobrace® appliance systems are now used by orthodontists and dentists in more
than 100 countries.

Dr. Rohan Wijey B Oral H (Dent Sci), Grad. Dip. Dent O.M. - After completing dentistry  at Griffith University in Queensland Australia Dr Wijey undertook further myofunctional study in the USA and achieved his Orofacial Myologist qualification.  Since joining MRC in 2007 Dr Wijey has assumed responsibility for the organisation’s training program and presented courses and seminars around the world. Additionally, Dr Wijey has had articles regarding the aetiology of malocclusion, Class III treatment, early intervention and myofunctional orthodontics published in numerous dental, paediatric and orthodontic journals.

Vanee Ganesaratnam O.M. (Orofacial Myologist) - Ms Vanee Ganesaratnam is a foundation member of the Myobrace Pre-Orthodontic Center®, and has worked alongside Dr Chris Farrell (MRC CEO and founder) since 2005 to develop its philosophy and novel approach to early myofunctional orthodontic treatment. Ms Ganesaratnam's myofunctional education, and consequent orthodontic re-education, began in Colorado, USA, where her eyes were opened to the benefits and potential of myofunctional therapy. Ms Ganesaratnam gained her qualifications as an orofacial myologist in 2009, which was approved by the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM). Ms Ganesaratnam learned how simple exercises for the orofacial muscles produced significant improvements in not only a child’s malocclusion but also facial development and overall health. She has now dedicated her efforts to training other professionals around the world in this field, based on her experiences from the Myobrace Pre-Orthodontic Center®.
