MRC 2 Day Course: Myofunctional Orthodontics - Evaluation, Treatment Planning & Implementation
During MRC's training seminars and courses, attendees will learn how myofunctional appliances can be used to treat soft tissue dysfunction, as well as receive advice regarding how myofunctional orthodontics can offer their practice a profitable alternative to traditional orthodontic techniques. Dr. Rohan Wijey B Oral H (Dent Sci), Grad. Dip. Dent O.M. - After completing dentistry at Griffith University in Queensland Australia Dr Wijey undertook further myofunctional study in the USA and achieved his Orofacial Myologist qualification. Since joining MRC in 2007 Dr Wijey has assumed responsibility for the organisation’s training program and presented courses and seminars around the world. Additionally, Dr Wijey has had articles regarding the aetiology of malocclusion, Class III treatment, early intervention and myofunctional orthodontics published in numerous dental, paediatric and orthodontic journals.
Dr Gavin Yang BHlthSc / MDent (La Trobe) - Dr Gavin Yang graduated from dental school at La Trobe University, Victoria in 2013.Throughout his years of study, Dr Yang covered all facets within the realm of dentistry. However, he discovered his passion after being inspired by his University Head of Orthodontics. Ever since then, Dr Yang’s intrigue within the field of Orthodontics grew significantly. Since graduating as a Dentist, Dr Yang decided to further his education within the field of Orthodontics by attending many courses. In particular, he took special interest in Myofunctional Orthodontics where he was enlightened to its many benefits and potential. Under the expert guidance of Dr Rohan Wijey, Dr Yang has now become an integral member of the Myobrace Pre-Orthodontic Centers and avid promoter of the Myobrace® philosophy.
Vanee Ganesaratnam O.M. (Orofacial Myologist) - Ms Vanee Ganesaratnam is a foundation member of the Myobrace Pre-Orthodontic Center®, and has worked alongside Dr Chris Farrell (MRC CEO and founder) since 2005 to develop its philosophy and novel approach to early myofunctional orthodontic treatment. Ms Ganesaratnam's myofunctional education, and consequent orthodontic re-education, began in Colorado, USA, where her eyes were opened to the benefits and potential of myofunctional therapy. Ms Ganesaratnam gained her qualifications as an orofacial myologist in 2009, which was approved by the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM). Ms Ganesaratnam learned how simple exercises for the orofacial muscles produced significant improvements in not only a child’s malocclusion but also facial development and overall health. She has now dedicated her efforts to training other professionals around the world in this field, based on her experiences from the Myobrace Pre-Orthodontic Center®.
