Key Presenters

Dr Farrell is a second-generation general dentist who graduated from Sydney University in 1971, having gained a comprehensive knowledge of traditional orthodontics using the Begg technique. Through clinical experience, Dr Farrell took an interest in TMJ disorder and following further research he discovered the aetiology of malocclusion and TMJ disorder was myofunctional, which contradicted the established views of his profession. Dr Farrell founded Myofunctional Research Co. (MRC) in 1989 to develop myofunctional appliances that would prove effective in TMJ and early orthodontic treatment. His Trainer and Myobrace^® appliance systems are now used by practitioners in more than 100 countries worldwide.

Dr Ahangari completed his studies in dentistry at Griffith University on the Gold Coast in 2014. His first job after graduation was working with The Myobrace^® System under the supervision of Dr John Flutter. He then left to work in Canada for nearly two years before returning to Australia to work for MRC HQ under the direct supervision of Dr Chris Farrell. He has now received full-time direct mentorship from two of the biggest global authorities on myofunctional orthodontics (Dr Farrell and Dr Flutter). Dr Ahangari excels in communication, has a passion for teaching and looks forward to contributing his skills to revolutionising the way professionals and the public view breathing and myofunctional health issues.

Dr Khan is a general dentist who received her degree from Griffith University in 2016.  She has been working at MRC clinics since graduation and, since then, has assumed the responsibility of providing treatment support, education and advice to Myobrace^® members and practitioners using The Myobrace^® System in Australia and abroad. Dr Khan is passionate about improving the overall health of children, and her desire to work at MRC stemmed from her belief that early intervention can change the course of paediatric health. She joined the lecturing team in 2017 to share her knowledge and passion for The Myobrace^® System, and its long-lasting impact on the health of her patients. She is now the lead presenter for MRC and lectures all over the world.

Jessica is the senior educator for MRC and has been with the company since 2012. She is a senior member of the lecturing team and, in addition to managing her clinical duties, she now co-ordinates support, education and training to Myobrace^® members and assists practitioners all over the world to implement MRC's treatment systems. She has been in the dental industry since 2006 and has extensive experience in a number of roles. Jessica currently also co-ordinates Research and Development at MRC clinics.

Dr Waller is a general dentist and received her degree from Griffith University in 2012. She joined MRC in 2014 and has since gained extensive knowledge in all of MRC's treatment systems and fixed orthodontic techniques. She excels in all aspects of general dentistry and has a special interest in treating children with preventative techniques. In 2019 she completed her certification in Dr Derek Mahony's EODO mini-residency orthodontic programme and continues to broaden her knowledge in MRC's treatment systems. She is currently the head dentist in MRC's Myobrace^® Centers and leads the group of practitioners. 

Dr Raphael is a specialist orthodontist and founder of the Raphael Center for Integrative Orthodontics in Clifton, New Jersey.  His focus on 'big picture' orthodontics started with his introduction to Chris Farrell and The Myobrace^® System in 2008.  Now, Dr. Raphael practises a wide range of integrative techniques designed to help children grow in the best possible way and to help adults find wellness, not just symptomatic relief.  He teaches these concepts at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, at the Raphael Center for Integrative Education, nationally and internationally.  Dr. Raphael is working closely with the American Dental Association (ADA) and the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) to move the practice of dentistry forward in the 21st century.

Dr Norton graduated from Southern Methodist University and Baylor Dental School, Dallas. He has practiced orthodontics and general dentistry in Dallas, Texas, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. He spent four years as Dental Director for Amarillo College. He has practised TMD, sleep apnea and orthodontic treatment in Salt Lake City and McKinney, both Texas. Dr Norton is currently the orthodontic provider for Abbeville Dentistry. He continues to provide orthodontic, TMD and sleep apnea treatment in Amarillo, Lubbock, Midland, Odessa and Big Spring. Dr. Norton refers to himself as an airway dentist. He looks to correct the cause of an issue, rather than simply the aesthetic symptoms. His goal is to convert others to also addressing the causes and underlying issues that affect our everyday dental patients.

Dr Gomez is a specialist orthodontist who has been in practice for almost 30 years, with an exclusive focus on orthodontics for 20 of those years. In 2004, she incorporated MRC's treatment systems and has since become a speaker, translator and distributor of MRC's appliances in her region.

Kelly is a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) and Oral Myofunctional Therapist (OMT) who has been with MRC since 2015. She is a senior member of the lecturing team and co-ordinates support, education and training for the US support team and practitioners around world.

Niels Hulsink has been working at MRC Europe head office since 2004. He is the lead lecturer for the European region and provides treatment support, education and advice to dental professionals in the European region. Prior to joining MRC Europe Niels fulfilled various positions in the orthodontic field.
