Bruxogard Soft

Protection of the teeth from bruxing with improved comfort

The Bruxogard Soft is a comfortable appliance for patients who would like to protect their teeth from bruxing and is designed for patients who are looking for a cost-effective alternative to custom-made dental appliances.

The soft version is best for use when the patient shows no TMJ symptoms, such as clicking or limited opening.

Directions for Use

The Bruxogard is designed to fit over the teeth and be worn overnight while sleeping.

It is recommended that the appliance be moulded by a practitioner. If further moulding is required, follow the below steps.

Step 1
Place the Bruxogard (tongue tag down) into bowl of freshly boiled water (100°C/212°F) for 60 seconds.
Step 2
Lift the Bruxogard gently out of the water using a spoon.
Step 3
Watching in a mirror, line up the V cut of the Bruxogard (tongue tag up) with the centre line of the front teeth.
Step 4
Press the Bruxogard firmly into the front teeth and molars while you suck in strongly, pressing the edges of the appliance in through the lips and cheeks for 20 seconds. NOTE: Do not bite down hard on the Bruxogard Soft!
Step 5
Remove from the mouth and place in a bowl of cold water for 20 seconds. Test back in the mouth for a firm fit. Reheat water and repeat previous steps if the fit is not tight enough. You want the base to remain flat, without indents of the lower teeth.
