Trainer for Kids Phase 2 - T4K® Phase 2

Arch expansion and continue habit correction

The pre-orthodontic Trainer for Kids (T4K®) is a single-size, prefabricated dental appliance that incorporates both myofunctional and tooth positioning characteristics. The T4K® is designed for treatment in the mixed dentition, while the permanent teeth are erupting and the child is still growing.

Phase 2 focuses on arch development and continuing habit correction. Made from a harder material, it assists in developing the upper and lower arch form, allowing more room to establish the correct tongue resting position and correct swallowing patterns.

Design Features

The design features of the T4K® Phase 2 are ideally suited for the continued correction of any malocclusion (except Class III) in the mixed dentition, while also helping to correct breathing and soft tissue dysfunctions.

Directions for Use

The Trainer appliance is to be used for one to two hours each day, plus overnight while sleeping. The patient's teeth may become slightly sensitive in the early stages of treatment. This is quite normal, however, if pain becomes excessive, decrease application time with the aim to build it back up once the appliance is accustomed to and sensitivity subsides.

    Hold the T4K® with the tongue tag facing up.

    Place the T4K® into your mouth.

    Step 2

  • Step 3

    Keep your tongue positioned on the tongue tag.

    Step 3

  • Step 4

    Gently bite down on the T4K® and feel it working to align your front teeth and jaws.

  • Step 5

    Keep your lips together and breathe through your nose.

    Step 5

Cleaning the Appliance

The Trainer appliance should be cleaned under warm running water every time your child removes it from their mouth.

Use Myoclean™ tablets to thoroughly clean twice a week. Myoclean™ is the recommended cleaning agent for all MRC appliances.
