In an effort to address some of the shortcomings of Myofunctional Therapy, MRC has created the Myofunctional Tongue And Lip Exercise Appliance range, better known as the Myotalea range, the world's most advanced adjunct appliances for the delivery of Myofunctional Therapy


The Myotalea TLJ
The Myotalea Tongue, Lip and Jaw (TLJ) appliance is the world's first active intraoral Myofunctional appliance. For the first time, practitioners can issue an intraoral appliance that can simultaneously train the tongue, lip and jaw muscles, providing patients with a simple and easily understandable exercise methodology. Furthermore, with the head tilt variation exercise, patients can improve the muscle tone of the airway and supra-hyoid muscles. The TLJ is an essential tool for all practitioners performing Myofunctional Therapy.


The Myotalea TLP
The Myotalea Tongue and Lip Press (TLP) appliance was the precursor appliance to the TLJ. It serves as a viable alternative for practitioners who prefer not to use intra-oral exercise appliances, and also for cases where the back of the tongue muscles should be targeted for exercise. The TLP does not exercise the Jaw muscles but still serves as a valuable tool for comprehensive tongue muscle training and improvement of the lip muscles.


The Myotalea LT

The Myotalea Lip Trainer (LT) appliance is an essential component for lip muscle function and swallow retraining when delivering Myofunctional Therapy. Unlike other methods, the LT engages the entire obicularis oris muscle which provides comprehensive training for patients who show lip incompetence and poor muscle tone. It also features the lip bumper which simultaneously provides feedback to the mentalis muscle helping to deactivate the reverse swallow.
 

The Myotalea LST
The Myotalea Lip Seal Trainer (LST) appliance is an extension which attaches to the LT appliance through the strap tether. Although it is mainly used to pull on the LT during exercise, the LST also doubles as an exercise tool to establish a lip seal and improve lip strength. It features the Training Board and the Lip Seal Spade in the one appliance which allow for beginner and advanced training respectively.
